Make the INCI list useful!
🪴What is INCI?
INCI stands for "International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients." It is a set of rules for ingredient labeling commonly used in cosmetics around the world.
For example, whether you buy a cream in Europe or in Japan, shea butter is listed under the INCI name "Butyrospermum Parkii."
🪴 What are the benefits of reading the INCI list?
Recently, more and more people are asking, "I want to know what ingredients are in the cosmetics I use."
However, there are tens of thousands of cosmetic ingredients, and it is not realistic to remember all of the INCI names.
However, just being aware of the INCI list can have several benefits:
- It becomes easier to find ingredients that suit your skin
- It becomes easier to avoid ingredients that cause allergies or skin irritation
- Makes it easier to choose environmentally friendly products
💡 Tips:
The INCI list is listed in descending order of content.
This means that the ingredient listed first is the one that contains the most.
However, some ingredients are effective in very small amounts, so even if they are used later in the day, their effectiveness is not necessarily weak. For example, hyaluronic acid is highly effective even in small amounts.
